I feel that kids need to branch out of their comfort zones every now and then...especially during the season of Lent and while we read Wonder. Today at lunch, I arranged the students so they were sitting by peers they don't normally sit by. Some kids weren't too thrilled, but the lesson learned is what outweighs everything else. Just like the main character August who struggles with his facial defect and feeling alone, this obstacle was very small compared to the struggles and crosses others bear.

Preschool Buddies
We spent Wednesday afternoon with the High Fivers. The 5th graders helped the preschoolers learn about the states of matter! The added bonus, we got to see a liquid change to a solid by eating some pancakes! :)
Martyr Magic
